Santa Marta Hotel

It's a nice place to have a cozy, quiet vacation. Views are nice. All in all, it has only two downsides: 1. Overpriced restaurant. This, perhaps, is just a personal preference thing, but in my and my spouse opinion, the price is a bit too high for what you get. After a stay, I visited a different place with prices at a restaurant 1.5 times higher, but the food was a thousand times more delicious. Again, this might be a personal taste thing. 2. Don't make my mistake and leave expensive items in a room - they might get missing and you won't ever find them again. This was unexpected for me from this level of a hotel.

Visited in mid June and had a fabulous first experience. The beach-front setting is formidable and incredible views are guaranteed. Based on my personal experience, I would say that this hotel is targeted to couples looking for a relaxing break and families and luckily not so much to the instagram generation. The hotel is not pretentious or impossibly hip, yet it delivers on every single aspect of the experience. A clear highlight for me was the service. Service was absolutely stellar, friendly yet very professional. Older and younger staff were eager to serve and to make you feel at home in the hotel. The beach was clean and transparent, and pool had the perfect temperature. I did not have any issue at any point in time to find a sunbed on the pool deck (which is not the case on many luxury resorts) or a table during any of the meals. The public areas are beautiful, very old-world classy in the most positive way. The rooms could certainly benefit from an upgrade but it did not bother me since everything worked. Wifi worked great! I did use both the gym (small, but enough for a workout) and the spa (had 2 treatments and both were great and priced very correctly). Breakfast is absolutely decadent with every possible item you may crave and the breakfast area (indoors and outdoors) is stunning. I truly enjoyed having my casual dinner in the terrace of the bar having a glass of wine and enjoying delicious tapas. Wine was excellent too. Lunch at the beach restaurant was also great, but found some dishes to be simply ok while others were great. I particularly like the fact that the hotel was quiet at night, no noise and hence great for sleeping. Please notice that there is quite a walk from the hotel level to the beach/pool level, which to me was not an issue but could be for those with reduced mobility. Also, there are not that many options to eat walking distance from the hotel, hence either rent a car or simply enjoy the premises. 100% satisfied and already planning my next trip.

A pleasant hotel located 10 minutes drive from the city, on the side of a mountain, surrounded by greenery. The hotel staff is extremely kind and do everything they can to help. The room is large and spacious, the sleep quality is very good. The hotel has an excellent beach and pool, just take in mind that you have to go down and climb stairs to get there. Highly recommended for those looking for peace and quiet outside the city.

Stayed here for a few nights. Have to say location is great in a nice bay with good beach. Hotel is okay but sadly not 5 star or worth the price I paid . Room service doesn't go late when in this sort of hotel you should have it. Rooms are okay but bit dated. Service and lobby bar is very slow but do accept they are understaffed they simply need to hire more staff . Went to the beach restating tooo is okay but amazing as they make but nice setting. Breakfast again is only average. Lots to improve especially for the price
